During this 10-hour private guided tour of Windsor Castle & Stonehenge, you will have the opportunity to discover both the Queen's preferred weekend home (Windsor Castle) and the most mystical prehistoric site in UK (Stonehenge).
Our professional driver and our Blue Badge guide will pick you up at your hotel (or apartment) to drive you first to Windsor. There, with our Blue Badge guide, you will be able to jump the queue and begin your private guided visit of the Castle with your passionate guide going through the State Apartments, Queen Mary's Dolls House and St George's Chapel. If you come on some specific times/days, you might have the opportunity to see the Changing of Guards.
After this amazing visit, you will continue into the charming medieval streets of Windsor and you will have a lunch in one of the local restaurants.
Then our Blue Badge guide will bring you to Stonehenge (around 1h15 drive).
Located right in the middle between Bristol and Southampton, Stonehenge exudes mystery, spiritualism and beauty: Stonehenge is the most famous and mysterious ancient site in the United Kingdom. The giant stones dominate the Wiltshire countryside, and five thousand years after the circle was built, it continues to astound archeologists as it is a masterpiece of engineering. Perhaps it was a ceremonial temple; an astronomical observatory; a burial place created by King Arthur; or part of a larger complex with areas devoted to the dead and the living. Some people think it was built by aliens – and Druids believe it was constructed on the site of converged ley lines (a mysterious energy grid). Our Blue Badge guide will explain you the history of this ancient site (it is one of Seven Wonders of the Medieval World), pointing out the altar, slaughter and heel stones, above which the sun rises dramatically on the summer solstice. Stonehenge is today on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
You will be able to get as close as around 10 meters (11 yards) from the stones and if you'd like, we can also arrange for you a VIP access in the inner circle at sunset time for an extra cost (subject to availability). In this latter case, you will enter the stone circle itself and stand beside the mighty Sarsen rocks towering above you!
We will then drive you back to London and drop you off at your hotel or apartment.
Our standard pick-up/drop-off for this tour is within Central London limits.
